The Ministry of Education leads academic welfare by coordinating solutions to student learning challenges, improving educational conditions, and strengthening teaching and learning quality across OUTSO constituencies.
How the office works
- The Minister supervises academic policy follow-up and represents student academic concerns at the appropriate forums.
- Two Deputy Ministers support implementation, programme coordination, and continuity of ministry activities.
- The Secretary organizes meetings, documentation, and communication for ministry decisions and action tracking.

Initiates, sponsors, or undertakes activities that improve learning environment and academic welfare.

Encourages students to understand their responsibilities in education matters.

Reviews teaching and learning methods and recommends improvements, including assessing general student performance in final results.

Coordinates activities of academic associations.
- 6
Ensures availability of study materials to all regional and study centres for subjects studied at the University.

Performs other academic-related duties.
