Welcome Message

Welcome To The Open University Of Tanzania Students Organisation

(OUTSO)

The Open University of Tanzania Students Organisation (OUTSO) was established under the Open University of Tanzania Charter 2007, as amended in 2022, to facilitate student matters. It is an autonomous organ by constitution.

OUTSO operates through regional centers, including centers in other countries, and through zones where meetings, seminars, workshops, trainings, studies, examinations, and other university services are delivered.

OUTSO is the only students organisation with a very large student base in Tanzania and offices across all regions in Mainland, Zanzibar, and Pemba. Each region has two elected representatives responsible for handling student concerns. Its mode of operation reflects the structure of the government of the United Republic.

Through University Students Representatives Council (USRC) meetings, student matters are fully discussed and deliberated. The President serves as the spokesperson of the organisation and ensures OUTSO objectives and functions are implemented effectively.
